KYMCO (or Kwang Yang Motor Co, Ltd) is a Taiwanese company best known for its manufacturing of motorcycles, motor scooters and ATVs. The company was founded in 1963 after splitting from Honda, with KYMCO originally making and distributing parts for Honda. The company manufactured its first complete scooter in 1970 and began marketing under the “KYMCO” brand name in 1992 – in the 2000s, Kymco became and was largely known as the largest scooter manufacturer in Taiwan, a record that it still holds.
